Back to Dishland

Had another dream I arrived at work to wash dishes at the Abbey Hotel (where I had worked from 1995-1998). I arrived in my present self (that is to say I was a 37 years old) and felt completely comfortable stepping in to wash dishes as I had when I was a teenager. I was enthusiastic to be back behind the dish washer, talking with servers and helping the chefs out with other duties. It was a very vivid dream and I recall reaching behind me without hardly having to look, grabbing a dish rack and loading dishes from the tray all seemingly done with one movement. I joked with several servers and asked them about how long they'd worked there. I was overwhelmed with euphoria of the good times I had had there and told them of stories. It reminded me that I had (in real life) balled up a huge chunk of dough and hid it on a ledge near the lockers. Sure enough, I looked and it was still there, to my amazement. One co-worker was still there, the head chef- though he mostly kept his head down and appeared pissed and serious. I briefly inquired about how many guests we had to serve, whether or not there was an open bar, etc- all quite common and automatic. I suppose there was a feeling of missing friends and familiar faces that were supposed to be there- it was a  great dream to have that reminded me all of all the good times I had in my youth- working, joking, smoking cigarettes after a job well done and then going back into the kitchen to clean up.
