Dinner and a Prank

I was with my friends Matt and Chris and we were out to eat. The restaurant had two levels connected by a steep, winding staircase. There were busboys and staff running around and the place was busy. I got the feeling that we were there to eat and then go out to a bar, as we had when we were younger- the sense of imminent excitement that came with youth. We joked with each other at the table when Chris and I decided to take Matt's cell phone and replace it with an old one. The old phone one was one I had had years ago- a refurbished piece of crap that I ordered off the Internet. Matt became angry when we realized the prank and at this time, I remember the restaurant, once bustling was now nearly empty and almost closed. I wondered if my dinner order would still arrive and I concluded that it would not and was glad because I wasn't hungry. As we left, We gave Matt his phone back. Then, as we got into our cars I sensed that I was far away from home and needed to get back. It was night and the idea that we would go to a bar was no longer the case.
