Ex-Girlfriend & Back in New Orleans
I was sitting at a cafeteria-like table among other college-aged kids. As with most dreams, there didn’t appear to be any walls or a ceiling to this place- more like a stage with players and props. At my table was a former girlfriend and we began to catch up a little. Seeing her in my dream must have reminded me to give her a call because I left the table to call her house to see if her mom or dad could give me her new address or phone number as I had not spoken with her in years. Her dad sort of grilled me while on the phone until he finally left to speak with her though when he returned to the phone, he said that she was asleep and didn’t want to talk. I returned to the table that sat the very same former girlfriend I just tried to call and realized she was there the entire time. I then wondered why her dad lied to me and said she was there but didn’t want to talk. Also, at some point in this dream a few homeless and generally detitute people sat down at our table and started to eat- randomness spurred on by last years field placement.
I was back in New Orleans, visiting my sister. Though when I was down there last, we never set foot in a dorm, we were nevertheless in one in the dream, trying to gather people to go out. I wandered in and out of dorm rooms openly talking with people as though I were their age and an undergraduate once again. It was fun, rallying the troops for night on the town, if only in a dream. The dormitory resembled one I had lived in before- again, my brain uses that schema and alters it a little.
